Book Review: The Hunger Games

This is an article on the book review of The Hunger Games.

For many years, I've been contemplating on reading "The Hunger Games", truly, it has a very catchy beginning. Katniss, our heroine gives us this beautiful introduction to her family, her district, district 12.

I've been quite lazy since I kept stopping at the first page, but ever since I had very nice reviews from Lizzie, I just had to give it a try.

Beautiful! ... The hunger games is one of the most unusual books I've read, in case you have a thing for adventures, the book is full of one crazy situation to another.

Katniss Everdeen lives in district 12 with her mourning mother and her little sister, Primrose. Her district is part of the twelve districts who participate in a crazy and sick game called The Hunger Games.

Every district is expected to bring two tributes, a male and female between the ages of 12-18, to fight till death! Sick right? I don't know that watching teenagers kill themselves in cold blood is modern-day entertainment.

Though the selection is random, Primrose who turns twelve that year gets selected as the female tribute and Katniss went crazy! Katniss instantly volunteers to replace her younger sister and Peeta(Katniss' acquaintance) becomes the male tribute.

My first thought:
What a weird name! I didn't know the name had so much meaning. Once someone from a district wins, his/her district gets a lot of food all year round, and that's good news because food is scarce, that's why it's The Hunger Games.

I absolutely love Katniss, such a strong and determined young girl. The book was adventure packed because a day didn't go without the audience hoping Katniss would survive the sucide mission.

In case you have been hoping to enjoy a nice book this holiday, The hunger Games is definitely for you. It is a trilogy, which means it has three books from The Hunger Games Series.

Great News! It has a real life Adaptation which has Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss (hotness overload!)
